How to Make Money Selling on Meesho and Amazon India

An online sale is not automatically a profit. Before listing products, calculate what remains after returns, fulfilment and platform charges.

1. Build a per-order worksheet

For an illustrative ₹500 sale, subtract ₹250 sourcing, ₹70 fulfilment and packaging, and ₹50 other costs. That leaves ₹130 before tax and returns. Replace these example amounts with current seller tariffs and your actual quotations.

2. Check platform and product obligations

Use Amazon's and Meesho's official seller guidance for onboarding, restricted products, documentation and fee details. Registration and tax obligations depend on your situation and selling model. Do not rely on a social-media claim that everyone can sell every product immediately.

3. Test a small batch

Order samples and inspect quality before expanding. Track cancellation, damage, return and payment timing. Keep enough cash to honour refunds; marketplace receivables are not the same as money already available in your bank.
